A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a retreat at Bend of Ivy, a gorgeous spot right outside of Asheville, NC.

The retreat was hosted by the team from Revolution from Home; I’ve mentioned before on the blog that I’ve been in their MotherWorthy virtual group program for a couple years now and love it, so when an in person retreat option popped up I knew I couldn’t miss it.

Hey friends! Riese (our 5 year old) and I had a fun adventure last weekend: we flew down to Atlanta, Georgia for the weekend to visit my high school best friend Jenny and her family! 

Jenny comes up to visit the DC area fairly often since her siblings both live here, but she didn’t have any plans to do so this summer so she pitched us coming down to visit her instead.

I spent the second half of last week in Austin, Texas for the Weight Inclusive Nutrition & Dietetics (WIND) Spring Symposium!

As most of you know, I’m a Registered Dietitian, and to maintain the credential (and to avoid re-taking the national exam, which is not something I ever want to have to do again…) we need to get 75 continuing education units (CEUs) every 5 years.

We arrived super late on Tuesday night at Matt’s parents house in Sewickley, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and we spent the rest of the week there, hanging out with his family and our friends in the area. 

In addition to Matt’s parents, his younger brother Drew and wife Morgana were in town visiting as well, and the 6 adults to 2 kids ratio was a really awesome one.

As for today, it’s featuring the day of the trip where we had some gross weather, which actually ended up leading to some really cool hikes because the sea was so beautiful and stormy!
