Say hello to the best high protein make ahead snack: bliss balls! These healthy bliss ball recipes are perfect for weekly snack prep, don’t require any baking, and there are lots of delicious flavors to choose from.
All you need is a food processor to make these (and some of them don’t even require that)!
Make Ahead Bliss Balls (High Protein Snack)
Bliss balls are one of my favorite types of healthy snacks to make. They’re super easy and portable, so they’re perfect for taking on the go. Plus, they’re packed with protein and staying power to keep you energized.
They’re also usually vegan, dairy free, and gluten free, and often naturally sweetened with dried fruit.
I also love that you can make a batch ahead of time and enjoy them all week long. Great for snack meal prep!
Typically, bliss balls are made from a combination of nuts and/or seeds, dried fruit (like dates or shredded coconut), and sometimes oats, but there are tons of variations.
I’ve included my favorite bliss ball recipes below – including a couple options for all you chocolate lovers out there!
Peanut Butter Bliss Balls
These peanut butter bliss balls are so tasty and protein-packed! They’re made with rolled oats and chia seeds, so they’re extra filling, and they’re sweetened with honey.
Dried cranberries get folded into the mixture too for a sweet-tart addition, but you can swap also them out for any other dried fruit you like! You can also use any kind of creamy nut or seed butter in place of the peanut butter.
Vanilla Fig Protein Balls
If you loved Fig Newtons growing up, these are a must-try! Dried figs are combined with ground flax, walnuts, almonds, and a hint of vanilla for a lightly sweet and nutty make-ahead snack.
Plus, the dried figs add enough sweetness that there’s no added sugar needed!
Chocolate Bliss Balls with Cashews
These chocolate bliss balls taste like dessert, but they’re made with nutritious ingredients! They’re made with a combination of nuts and dates, and optionally rolled in shredded coconut for a tasty added touch.
Dates are the secret ingredient here – they add sweetness and hold all the ingredients together!
Turmeric Ginger Energy Bites
Turmeric and ginger make a surprising yet delicious flavor pairing in these unique bliss ball recipe.
Dried apricots, golden raisins, almonds, cashews, and ground flax make up the rest of the ingredients in these lightly sweet no bake energy bites (with a little spicy kick from the ginger).
Cherry Almond Bliss Balls
These taste like cherry pie in miniature form (and without all the added sugar)!
They’re made with dried cherries and nuts for a delicious, satisfying, and portable snack that’s especially perfect for summer, but can easily be made year-round.
Chocolate Coconut Date Bliss Balls
These date-sweetened healthy bliss balls with almonds, oats, and shredded coconut are studded with chocolate chunks for a healthy snack that tastes like a sweet treat. They’re like a more nutrient dense version of chocolate truffles!
Cinnamon Raisin Energy Balls
Cinnamon and raisins pair so well together, and with the addition of nutty almonds, they’re even better!
These super simple protein balls are easy to make and perfect for a little boost of energy throughout the day. Like most of the no bake bliss balls on this list, these are vegan, dairy free, and gluten free!
Salty Maple Nut Energy Bites
A little salt really accentuates the sweet maple flavor of these maple nut energy bites!
They’re packed with nutrition ingredients like almonds, walnuts, and chia seeds, and are sweetened with a combination of dates and pure maple syrup. Brown rice cereal adds a little crunch, too.
These are actually a favorite of mine for fueling exercise, as well as my day – they are perfect to fuel hikes, super long runs, bike rides, etc.!
How to Store Bliss Balls
After making bliss balls, place them in an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 2 months. If frozen, just set them on the counter to thaw before enjoying.
I hope you love these easy bliss ball recipes as much as I do. Feel free to share your favorite flavor in the comments!
