Hi! I’m Anne Mauney, and I started this healthy lifestyle and recipe website back in 2009 as a way to inspire others to lead happier, healthier lives.
I want people to see that eating nutritious food and staying active doesn’t have to be complicated – and can even be fun! I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) Nutritionist and I have a Masters of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m also a marathoner, yogi, and lover of the outdoors, adventure, travel, and healthy recipe creation. I live in the Washington, DC area with my husband, Matt, and our daughter, Riese (born in 2017), and son, Wesley (Wes – born in 2021).
On this blog, you’ll find a mix of daily life, easy recipes, quick meal ideas, running & race recaps, adventures in motherhood, active travel, nutrition tips, and more. My recipes are all fast and simple (because who wants to spend hours in the kitchen) and inspired by my expertise in nutrition. While my recipes are nutrient dense, don’t worry – they are also delicious.
My nutrition tips and delicious recipes have been featured in dozens of national and online publications, including Runner’s World, Oprah.com, Prevention, NBC News, The Washington Post, HuffPost, KSL.com, BuzzFeed, and VICE.
I have also spoken at a number of conferences (including the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo) and blogging events on the topics of entrepreneurship and building a successful online business.
In addition to blogging, I have my own nutrition counseling private practice, helping clients to improve their relationships with food via an intuitive eating approach.

In addition to lots of healthy and easy recipes, I share a lot about my life on the blog, too. When I started this blog in 2009, I was single and had just left my first career in public relations and communications after deciding to go back to grad school to become a Registered Dietitian, following my passion for nutrition and wellness.
I’ve since had a lot of big moments that have been documented on this blog! I started and finished grad school. I completed my dietetic internships and passed the national exam to officially become a Registered Dietitian. I got engaged to and then married to my husband, Matt. I started my own nutrition counseling private practice. I ran my first half marathon, then my first full marathon, and then a dozen more half marathons and 2 more full marathons. I got pregnant and we welcomed our daughter, Riese, to the family… and then a few years later I got pregnant again, and our family was complete when our son, Wes, arrived.
And many more little moments in between. It has been so much fun sharing my life and my growing family with all of you, my blog readers. Thank you for being here – I’m so glad to have you!
